I use the word becoming because it’s important to understand what it takes to become a CNA. You can choose to be a CNA or become a CNA.
A certified nursing assistant, or CNA, is one of the first steps to starting your career in nursing. These individuals help care for patients under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). We train our students to get their certifications and pass in two (2) weeks. During the intense training we stress the importance of possessing patience, compassion, medical knowledge, and a variety of other skills to better the patient.
A CNA’s job responsibilities vary based on the type of work you are assigned. Working in: hospitals, nursing homes, personal homes, adult care centers and even assisted living facilities, are some of the places that require a CNA. CNA’s are the assistant to LPNs and RNs, in which they send information to patients and nurses as requested.
The medical industry is always in demand of CNA’s, that being said it is fairly easy to find a job within the nursing field. CNA’s are especially in high demand in assisted living facilities and jobs that provide continuing care, reason why is because the role of CNA’s is recognized among many health care facilities. Also, did you know it’s much easier for CNA’s to become RNs when compared to HHA’s?
